Personal Safety Plan
Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure whilst at work or in a lecture theatre or study area, or when required to walk about the campus, whether it be during the day or at night. We should all give serious consideration to having a plan of action if required to deal with a situation which puts our safety at risk.
Your personal Safety Plan
Having your own individual Safety Plan means thinking about the actions you would take if faced with a threatening situation whilst on campus. To formulate a plan, it may help to discuss its content with Security Staff or associates. It is dangerous to assume it won't happen to you. The time taken in planning ahead is time well spent. Feel confident and comfortable with the fact that it makes perfect sense to ask for help if your safety is put at risk. This webpage offers some suggestions which may be of assistance when formulating your own safety plan.
