Contractor parking
Definition of a contractor:
A person or company who has been awarded a building or service contract for work at the University of Melbourne through the Property & Campus Services.
Application for Permit:
Contractors may apply for a permit on a quarterly or annual, ie quarter ending 31 March, 30 June, 30 September, 31 December.
Applications can be obtained from the Parking Office or permits will be issued on payment of the appropriate fee.
Each contractor is restricted to one permit due to space limitations; application for a second permit will be treated on a case by case basis subject to parking space availability.
Sub-contractors:
Sub-contractors are not permitted to park on University grounds but can be admitted to 'drop off' equipment. Twenty minutes maximum is available in such situations.
Day Permits:
Occasional single day permits may be issued, if space is available, on payment of the appropriate fee.
Non Parking Areas:
Contractors are expected to park in a marked space however a Vechile Required for Work to be Carried Out Permit allowing access to non-parking areas may be issued on application provided the contractor can provide evidence that they are required to work from the vehicle. These permits do not allow parking in No-Standing Signed areas or those marked by a solid yellow line.
These permits are available from the Traffic & Parking Office at 213 Grattan St. Carlton.
