2008

The Emergency Management website will undergo a redevelopment in 2008. The purpose of the redevelopment is:

  • Improve the content structure of the website, specifically:
    • Remove or update out of date and redundant content;
    • Considerably reduce the number of pages and the number of page categories in the site overall, as these cause user confusion as well as make site difficult to maintain.
  • Prepare Emergency Management website for migration into the University Content Management System, as part of the Property & Campus Services website CMS migration project 2008. Prior content redevelopment (especially removal of redundant content) will decrease the complexity of the migration. Once migration is complete, users will see improved appearance and conformity to current University web templates.

The structural & content redevelopment will take place in three stages in mid to late 2008. At the conclusion of each stage, information about the nature of changes made will be reported here and communicated to Building Emergency Controllers by the Emergency Management Coordinator.
