Information about Emergency Incidents

Information for Relatives

Official media releases in relation to emergency incidents at the University will be posted to the University's news website.

An "Emergency Information Hotline" 1800 telephone number will be activated to provide a contact point for people with a connection to members of the University community. We do not encourage people to attend the campus. Every effort will be made by the University and the Police to provide relevant information as soon as possible.

Information for the Media

Official media releases in relation to emergency incidents at the University will be posted to the University's news website.

Media representatives entering any of the campuses must be wearing official media photo identification and must report to the nearest Security representative or Police control point. As for all emergency incidents, University Security and Emergency Services Officers will prevent access to the incident site if there is a risk to safety.

It is expected that relevant senior management staff and Police will be available for interview when all the facts of the incident are known. Such interviews will be arranaged in conjunction / consultation with the senior Police Commander / other Emergency Service Commanders on site.

Information for Staff and Students

Specific information for staff and students in relation to emergency incidents on your campus will be distributed to you via normal communication channels used by your Department or Faculty. Official media releases in relation to emergency incidents at the University will be posted to the University's news website.
