Common Keyboard Shortcuts for Mac and Windows

On Mac use the Apple key instead of the Control key (CTRL)

Select all

Save

Copy

Cut

Paste

CTRL+Z

Undo

CTRL+O

Open document

CTRL+W

Close document or window

CTRL+N

New document

CTRL+P

Print

Italicise

Find

CTRL+RIGHT ARROW

Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next word

CTRL+LEFT ARROW

Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word

CTRL+DOWN ARROW

Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph

CTRL+UP ARROW

Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph

CTRL+SHIFT with any of the arrow keys

Highlight a block of text

SHIFT with any of the arrow keys

Select more than one item in a window or on the desktop, or select text in a document

Windows only

In any application in Windows and underlined letter in a top-level menu name indications that that menu will open when you use ALT + Underlined letter. Once the menu is open hit any underlined letter in a command name (menu item) to perform the corresponding command.
