Background to EHS Strategic Plans
The University is certified to SafetyMAP (4th edition) and ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard. The University must plan its environment, health & safety activities, objectives and targets in line with the specifications of these standards. The plans are required to be endorsed by and reported to the University’s senior executive.
The plans are formally reviewed and performance and achievements are reported annually to senior committees. In addition, a summary of achievements is reported publicly in the University of Melbourne Annual Report.
The University's process for establishing, implementing and maintaining EHS Management Plans with objectives and targets for each functional level within the University is described in EHS Manual Procedure 5.1.New. EHS Management Plans.
