These publications are important for all staff, but especially important for staff who have a front-line contact role with students or the public.

Publication name Purpose How to obtain
Emergency Action Guide

A small "Emergency Action Guide" has been produced to assist staff with remembering what to do during an emergency. The guide is not designed to replace proper training. However, keeping the guide beside your phone for handy reference may be all you need to remember what to do when there is a gas leak, medical emergency or other such emergency requiring immediate action. The guide is small enough to keep beside or under your phone and has pages that can be identified by the colour coded paper and key words.

To identify different types of emergency, an Australian Standard (AS 3745-2002) groups emergencies into categories and specifies colour codes for each category, for instant recognition. For this reason it is important that this flip guide be printed in colour.

We have a standard template in MS Word format (view Emergency Action Guide preview image) that can be modified to suit specific needs within a building or site.

Please contact the Emergency Management Coordinator for more information about this publication.
